TOEHOLD is an 11,000-mile cross-country trip, by cyclist and baseball aficionado Kasey Knutsen and his dog Ryley, to restore hope. Stopping at all 30 MLB stadiums along the way, he will rally and unite fans, inspired by their love of the game, to make a difference for struggling children around the world. It is time to give them the potential to feel that same thing about life that we feel when we watch baseball: Hope, Excitement, and Pride. Baseball is a game of heroics, late-inning drama, and triumph over adversity. It is about emotional thrill, and the hope and wonder in a child's eye, sitting in the bleachers as his favorite player steps to the plate in the bottom of the 9th, his team down by a run and with two out. Baseball is the stuff from which dreams are made. But for many kids around the world there are no dreams. They're been trailing in the 9th so many times in life that they have forgotten about come-from-behind victories and late-inning heroics. They need more than the occasional pinch hitter or spot reliever. They need a chance to lead. They need sustainability. And so Lift Kids and TOEHOLD step to the plate. And all it takes is $1.
